Jacob joined Flagship in 2025 after two decades of delivering strategic legal counsel across a broad range of complex employment, litigation, and regulatory matters. As Vice President of our Legal department, he brings deep expertise in navigating high-stakes legal environments and a proven ability to align legal strategy with business goals. His background includes extensive litigation oversight, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional advisory work that strengthens Flagship’s legal infrastructure and supports its continued growth.

Before joining Flagship, Jacob served as Senior General Attorney at BNSF Railway, where he held multiple specialized roles. His work spanned employment law, intercarrier relations, commercial litigation, and regulatory matters, including proceedings before federal courts and the U.S. Surface Transportation Board. He led litigation in multiple jurisdictions, advised senior leadership on legal risk, and implemented strategies that significantly reduced outside counsel costs while safeguarding the company’s interests in complex disputes.

Earlier in his career, Jacob practiced at top-tier law firms, including Greenberg Traurig, where he managed cases involving labor law, intellectual property, real estate, and financial litigation. He earned his J.D. cum laude from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, where he led the Moot Court Board of Advocates. Known for his thoughtful legal insight and collaborative approach, Jacob plays a key role in shaping Flagship’s legal strategy, mitigating risk, and enabling business innovation.
